Happy New 2012 everybody. What ever happened to 2011? Time seems to fly by.

All at Prenplants wish all our customers, suppliers, friends and casual web browsers a happy and prosperous year.

Our new catalogue is out and its our silver jubilee edition as we have been on our present site for 25 years. Its a bit greyer than we would have liked but it’s nearly silver and we found out that not having a shiney cover was more environmentally friendly. The big news is that we have gone peat free and are now growing in non peat growing media. In fact we have been growing peat free since March 2011 and the good news is that no one has noticed. We went peat free after trialling a number of growing media last year and found this compost gave results far superior to our existing compost. So now you can have great plants and be environmentally friendly.

I talk to a number of gardening clubs each year and the comment I am getting back from their members is that they think that peat free plants is a good idea and would like to grow more. We think this will encourage more people to buy our plants so hopefully this will mean a good year for everybody.
