GAN 2009 and the New Season
We had a wonderful time at the GAN trade show. We think our stand was our best yet. It didn’t win any prizes but we were very proud of it and lots of visitors said complimentary things about it. We think we’ll use more sacking next year to make it look trendier.
It was good to see so many people there. And really great that people were enthusiastic about the coming season. We think we dealt with all the enquires from the show but if you are still expecting us to react to an enquiry please accept our apologies and send us a note to remind us to do whatever we were supposed to do.
Hopefully the extreme weather is behind us and our plants are starting to show signs of life. A few fine weekends will have the gardening public flocking to the garden centres. So make sure you are well stocked up or you could be missing that all important sale.
We have started sending out availability lists of those plants that are looking good. Are you getting yours? We can send them by fax or email either weekly or monthly. Let us know if you are not receiving one and which is your preferred method of delivery.

PRENPLANTS PERENNIALS MEAN PROFITS
One large plant centre, in Surrey, has three herbaceous suppliers who each have equal bench space in the sales area. At the end of the 2008 season the manager calculated that the supplier that gave the most profit per unit area was Prenplants.
Prenplants sales manager, David Grist, said, “At Prenplants we grow a wide range of quality plants that have a built in shelf life. Our aim is to provide a robust plant that will maintain its quality over a long period of time. Our wide range of plants means that there is always something different to tempt customers throughout the season”
“Prenplants perennials have that extra value for customers that help them maintain higher price levels and therefore more profit for Garden Centers.”

PAY YOUR CARDS RIGHT
To make it easier for customers to purchase our wide range of quality herbaceous plants we now have facilities to accept credit and debit cards. We hope this will make buying from us so much easier.
We can accept all the major types except American Express. The facility will allow you to pay with your card at the time of purchase without the need for cumbersome chequebooks. We can also take card payments by telephone.

A HAPPY NEW SEASON TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS
Well at least the freezing weather has gone for the time being and it’s now time to think about the coming season. Our new catalogue is out and if you haven’t had a copy click here to receive one. David, our sales manager, will be visiting customers during the next few weeks to discuss our plans and their needs for the coming year.
One of the comments we are getting from our garden centre customers is that they are very optimistic for the coming spring season providing the weather is good. There was little garden activity in the autumn so once the spring comes people will be out there gardening and spending money on plants. We are also getting feed back that our plants always sell well and retain their quality over a long period.
On Wednesday 11th February we will be attending the GAN Show near Bournemouth, link http://www.ganshow.com/. We will be on Stand 216 (Its not far from the refreshments!!) We look forward to seeing friends and customers as well as meeting new friends and customers and discussing plans to help you sell more plants this season.
We have produced our first looking good list of the season. Contact us if you would like a copy.
Now remember you can’t sell plants unless you have some in stock. So make sure you stock up in time to catch those early sales
